For precise fluorescence measurements, Avantes offers a specially designed reflection probe optimized for this purpose. The probe features 12 excitation fibers of 200 μm arranged around a 600 μm read fiber, which transports the fluorescence signal back to the spectrometer. To enhance fluorescence signal collection, the probe can be equipped with a special reflector accessory (FCR-FLTIP-IND) at the probe end. This accessory effectively blocks ambient light from entering the probe while also backscattering the excitation light, thereby amplifying the typically low fluorescence signal.
Applications:
- Fluorescence Spectroscopy: Ideal for applications in which precise fluorescence measurements are needed, such as in biological research, environmental monitoring, and chemical analysis.
- Environmental Monitoring: Used for detecting trace amounts of pollutants or contaminants in water, soil, or air based on fluorescence emissions.
- Biological and Chemical Research: Assists in studying biomolecules or chemical reactions that exhibit fluorescence properties.
- Clinical Diagnostics: Applied in medical and clinical settings to measure biomarkers or to detect specific proteins or DNA sequences.
