These specialized reflection probes are designed for simplified measurement of powders and thick fluids by allowing the probe to be directly immersed into the sample. The probe features an illumination leg that transmits light to the sample via six fibers, and a 45-degree fused silica window at the tip that illuminates the sample and collects the reflected light. The reflections are then carried through a single fiber to the spectrometer. The 45-degree angle of the window prevents direct back reflection, improving the dynamic range and ensuring accurate, high-quality measurements.
Applications:
- Powder Analysis: Ideal for measuring the reflectance properties of powdered materials, including pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and food powders.
- Thick Fluid Analysis: Used for the analysis of viscous or opaque fluids, such as oils, paints, and emulsions, where traditional measurement methods might be difficult.
- Material Characterization: Assists in the characterization of materials with inconsistent or non-uniform surfaces, providing reliable data on composition or quality.
- Quality Control in Manufacturing: Applied in industries where consistency of powdered products or thick fluids must be monitored, such as in the chemical, cosmetic, and food industries.
